For my MFA Thesis project, I explored human-centered design and the iterative process of developing an interactive textbook for the iPad that facilitates learning color theory. My research delved into effective multimedia learning practices, current learning trends of the “Net Generation,” and technological capabilities and limitations within various digital publication platforms. An excerpt from a printed textbook on color theory was converted to a media-rich and interactive digital textbook. The resulting prototype was refined based on human-centered design principles, usability testing, and user feedback.
